Update: Missing boater pulled from Meaford harbour

Grey County OPP Marine Unit and the OPP Underwater Search and Recovery Unit have pulled the body of a missing boater from Meaford harbour.
The discovery was made around 12:20 Friday afternoon about 30 feet from the overturned dinghy the man was last seen in around 9:30 Thursday night.
The victim was not wearing a life jacket.
The corner attended the scene and a post mortem examination has been scheduled for Saturday in Owen Sound.
The deceased has been identified as 26-year old Gary David ROBERTSON of New Lowell.

Crews have spent the night searching Meaford harbour for a missing man.
Witnesses tell Grey County OPP they saw a man in his mid to late 20’s lounging in a 7 foot dinghy in the harbour off Bayfield Street on Thursday.
Around 9:30 pm they heard a splash and spotted the boat overturned in the harbour.
Grey County OPP called in the Canadian Coast Guard (Meaford), the OPP West Region Emergency Response Unit (ERT), OPP Marine Unit, and the Meaford Fire Department who are all assisting in the search which is ongoing.
As of 4:30am we’ve had no update.
