On this day, 1971, the "Fuddle Duddle" is born
On this day 1971 Pierre Trudeau, then Prime Minister of Canada, was accused of mouthing an obscenity in the House of Commons. When later asked if this was true he said “Of course not”, when asked what he did say, he replied “Fuddle Duddle” and a new phrase was born.
It got it’s own song by “The House of Commons” band (a one hit wonder) you can listen to a clip of the 1971 interview with the song below
