Bad batch of "magic brownies"
Emergency responders were called to a cottage on the Peninsula over the weekend for a mysterious illness.
Bruce Peninsula OPP, Bruce County EMS and Northern Bruce Peninsula Fire Department all responded to the call on Dorcas Bay Road around 5:45 Sunday morning.
Inside they found ten occupants who’d rented the cottage with a number of them suffering from an unknown affliction.
Fire crews ruled out carbon monoxide poisoning while food poisoning was also ruled out.
A few of the visitors were transported to Lion’s Head hospital for further treatment.
Eventually, they figured out it was a special pan of brownies one of them baked… that was laced with marijuana.
Police are warning those who choose to engage in the illegal and risky behaviour of consuming drugs, outside the guidance and direction of a physician, that the costs often out way the benefits.
